'From Imagery to Map' conference was held for four days from November 14 to 17 in Agra, India. The end-users from Russia and India gathered at the conference. Sponsors delivered presentations about satellite, UAV, and Photomod application. Mr. Wookhyun Choi, the vice president of SI Imaging Services, introduced KOMPSAT as a new choice of 50 cm satellite imagery.

Sentinel-1 Toolbox 5.0 supports KOMPSAT-5, and you can analyze, process and view KOMPSAT-5 imagery using it. The Sentinel-1 Toolbox includes tools for calibration, speckle filtering, coregistration, orthorectification, mosaicking, data conversion, polarimetry and interferometry. The image on the left shows the result of change detection using KOMPSAT-5 images within Sentinel-1 Toolbox. Sentinel-1 Toolbox will be available on December 1st, 2016. KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has been releasing KOMPSAT Imagery Quality Report from May, 2016. We will share the report on our website and newsletter monthly. The report of October edition shows information of KOMPSAT-3, 3A, and 5. It includes location accuracy, MTF, SNR. The location accuracy of KOMPSAT-3 and 3A has improved a lot from the designed one, and it has been improved over time.

Beijing South Railway Station taken by KOMPSAT-3A at Beijing in China on May 26th, 2016.


This unique infrastructure is Beijing South Railway Station which has huge and oval-shaped structure. The glass ceiling is outfitted with 3,246 solar panels to generate electricity. The structure spreads out like a ray or trilobite and covers 320,000 square meters.
