SIIS will hold a joint booth with KARI at upcoming International Symposium
on Remote Sensing 2017 in Nagoya, Japan.

SIIS team went on a road show from March 27th to April 7th in Southeast Asia to visit sales partners and customers. The sales partners and customers shared their opinions about KOMPSAT promotion. It was fruitful for us to know about customers' direct suggestions such as having KOMPSAT workshop in Southeast Asia. Moreover, SIIS team was pleased to discuss about big projects in the future.

'International GIS Forum' was held for three days from April 19 to 21 in Moscow, Russia. The customers and companies from Russia gathered at the conference. SIIS team discussed about ongoing projects with resellers and cound find out the satellite imagery market trend in Russia.

KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute, and SIIS(SI Imaging Services, are very pleased to announce that on April 1, we began to offer KOMPSAT(Korean Multi-Purpose Satellite) DRS(Direct Receiving Station) services with the cooperation of German Remote Sensing Data Center of German Aerospace Center(DLR) in Neustrlitz, Germany.Through this service, which enables us to receive data at DLR site more than 2 times a day, we expect to have more KOMPSAT-3A data available (and its archive) and provide near-real-time services to Europe or further countries.

We are pleased to announce that SI Imaging Services is an official distributor of TeLEOS-1 imagery since 24 June, 2016. As an authorised global distributor of TeLEOS-1 imagery, we can sell TeLEOS-1 satellite images all over the world. TeLEOS-1 is Singapore's first commercial Near Equatorial Orbit (NEqO) Earth Observation satellite. Operating at an altitude of 550 kilometres, TeLEOS-1 offers 1 metre high resolution satellite imagery with an average revisit time of 12 to 16 hours. AgilSpace offers the imagery mainly.

ST Electronics, our sales partner in Singapore, has done a research about detecting oil palms and aeroplanes in KOMPSAT-3 satellite imagery using the automatic object detection algorithm that they have developed. To determine the detection accuracy of the algorithm, a test sample comprising of 600 randomly selected oil palms was first manually extracted from the test image. The algorithm was then applied to this test sample and the results were visually verified. The algorithm was able to achieve an average detection rate of 95%.



KOMPSAT-3A satellite image is now available on SpyMeSat, which is the only mobile app by Orbit Logic for satellite imagery order. This is the easiest way to place an order for satellite imagery. In 2015, KOMPSAT-2, 3, 5 were added to SpyMeSat, and customers could easily place an order through the app. Recently, we have decided to add KOMPSAT-3A which has the highest resolution among KOMPSAT series into SpyMeSat to give customers wider options of products.

NDEM(National Database for Emergency Management) is a map for the disaster management purpose managed by NRSC in India. It was created to centralize national GIS database for the management of natural and man-made disaster and technological disasters. KOMPSAT-2 (1m resolution) and KOMPSAT-3 (70cm resolution) images were provided for the map. The entire area was 67,950 square km, and we successfully deliver imagery to our customer.



KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has been releasing KOMPSAT Imagery Quality Report since May, 2016. We will share the report on our website and newsletter monthly. The report of January and February edition shows information of KOMPSAT-3, 3A, and 5. It includes location accuracy, MTF, SNR. The location accuracy of KOMPSAT-3 and 3A has improved a lot from the designed specification, and it has been improved over time.

Eiffel Tower is an iron frame tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. Constructed from 188789 as the entrance to the 1889 World's Fair, it was initially criticized by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but it has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most popular structures in the world.
