GHGSat, a partner of SI Imaging Services, attended the 'Energy Sector Methane Reduction Policy Discussion' held at the National Assembly Building in Korea on February 22 and introduced the methane gas detection satellite system.

While methane has a greenhouse gas effect 82 times stronger than carbon dioxide, it is receiving less attention in responding to climate change in Korea. However, since a small amount of reduction can have a large effect, the focus of this discussion was that the private sector and the government should properly manage methane generation and reduction. Deepak Anand, vice president of GHGSat, explained GHGSat's technology, which can accurately detect methane gas emissions remotely from space via satellite, and how the technology is contributing to the global environment and economy.
